Fluothane Calibration Card

Date of manufacture:
1956

Manufacturer:
ICI

Description:
This calibration card does not indicate the vaporiser to which it refers. It is probably intended to be used with Boyle ether bottles and would have been intended as a guide when the anaesthetic was very new to the markt and the Cyprane 'Fluotec' and other temperature compensated, dedicated vaporisers were not yet available. Fluothane ICI (Halothane) was first used clinically by Johnstone in 1956 in Manchester and became immediately popular.
